Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on misalignment and dysfunction of your spine and how these dysfunctions effect peoples overall health and wellbeing.
Misalignment and dysfunction of your spine can interfere with the normal function of your nervous system. If normal function of your nervous system is not maintained the bodies ability to self-regulate and self-heal becomes compromised and you will start to notice symptoms.
Common symptoms people present to Chiropractors for include (but are not limited to):
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches & Migraines
- Vertigo
- Disc injuries
- Whiplash
- Sciatica
- Extremity pain (arms & legs)
To correct misalignment and dysfunction of the spine (or extremities) a Chiropractor will utilise a drug free, hands on approach. This most commonly involves a “Chiropractic adjustment” where the Chiropractor will apply a controlled manual force into the misaligned and dysfunctional joint of the spine. Doing so aims to correct the misalignment and dysfunction which intern will remove the interference from your nervous system allowing the body to function normally and elevating symptoms.
Chiropractors also place a heavy emphasis on a healthy lifestyle, so on top of the “Chiropractic adjustment” your Chiropractor may also provide advice on nutrition, exercise and ergonomic factors.
Chiropractors must undergo 5 years university training to obtain their qualification, and are then required to continually educate to maintain registration.
